Designed in 1898 by Bendigo-born architect, William Beebe for local tobacconist, Karl van Damme, this imposing residence was named 'Malmo' after the owner's home town of Malmo in Sweden.

- It includes many eclectic decorations like high-pitched roof with hips and projecting gables.

- Tuck-pointed red brick construction has elaborate chimneys, detailed fretwork, bay windows, marble-topped open fireplaces, elaborate Kauri pine staircase with ornate balustrade, high ceilings and polished timber floors.
