"The interior perfectly balances the home's period originality with a sympathetic north-facing extension to offer extensive five bedroom, five bathroom plus a study family accommodation and more than a few surprises from a huge cellar to a roof-top retreat with spectacular views across the Bay to the city skyline.
"Traditional formal living and dining rooms make a stunning first impression with their grand proportions and elegant detailing; while a vast north-facing living and dining area includes two living areas opening out to the terrace, and a dining area set beneath a vaulted ceiling.
The spacious kitchen is comprehensively appointed with granite work surfaces, stainless steel appliances and a walk-in pantry.
"The sleeping accommodation is ideal for the larger family and includes a palatial master bedroom with a spa ensuite, retreat area and private balcony, there's a 2nd ensuite bedroom and a ground-floor 5th bedroom with an adjoining sitting room and bathroom.
A top-floor retreat services the bedrooms on this floor; while a separate studio with a bathroom features a huge attic area and opens to a lovely secret garden.
"Comprehensive appointments include a return driveway leading to a 4-car garage with a car stacker and a double carport, zoned hydronic heating, zoned air conditioning, and a monitored alarm. Outdoors includes a BBQ area, a Sony TV, and a courtside gazebo.
"Greystones" is located in one of Brighton's best streets and is just a short walk to Middle Brighton Beach, the Sea Baths, Royal Brighton Yacht Club, Church Street shopping, public transport and a number of Melbourne's best Private schools.

Located on Park Street amid established English gardens, the 1914 house sits on 2,219 square metres. The house comes with six bedrooms and five bathrooms. It's been home to the Bells for the past 20 years.
Its vast north-facing living and dining area includes two living areas opening out to the terrace and a dining area set beneath a vaulted ceiling. “It’s a period home with a history," Simon Bell says.
"We loved the fact that it’s an old house with high ceilings. It has a magic hideaway garden, tennis, cricket and basketball court as well as a spa and heated swimming pool.”
After living there for 20 years, the Bells are selling in the hope of downsizing. “The house is just so big! We have the biggest main bedroom in Brighton, stretching the length of the house with views over the tennis court,” says Bell.
